The Plustek MobileOffice S420 (Retail $180) offers mobile scanning of paper documents, business cards, and rigid embossed cards, at a rather fast 12 page per minute scan speed, with automatic conversion to searchable PDF at the touch of a button. While this scanner does not offer the higher resolution of desktop units, it does provide good speed and acceptable resolution for a mobile scanner. The MobileOffice S420 comes with a docking device that assists in accurately feeding in the documents to be scanned, and provides USB connections for two PCs to share the scanner.
The Plustek MobileOffice S420 is designed for both mobile business users, and home users. When using the scanner without the docking station, this third generation mobile scanner is powered by the USB bus and does not require external power. This allows you to scan to your PC, laptop, or netbook, in your office, at the airport, in your car, at your customer's site, or anywhere on the road. The MobileOffice S420 features advanced image processing that allows you to scan mixed sized documents with no adjustments.
